Video Thumbnails Maker lets users create their own thumbnails (screen-lists, previews, and caps) as well as screenshots from video files. This can be used for network video sharing support, and for home-video cataloging. The tool is made up of a Video Thumbnails Maker, and a Pictures Thumbnails Viewer.

One of the advantages of this program is its capacity to start related video-files coming from a sheet of thumbnails. Users can also start the video from the part where they took the shot of the thumbnail.

This program also requires VTX picture files to be generated. It support nearly every type of video formats, including QT, SWF, MOV, FLV, and RM if the user has installed the correct codec. It can support the batch processing of video files. There are four rendering engines, one of them being the Crystal engine which comes with its own codec system. Users can pause, stop, or resume active jobs at any time. The viewer allows them to start a linked video-file right from a thumbnail sheet. Users can find a visual preview of their settings inside the Options window. Each tile can be saved in an individual file. These thumbnail sheets can be merged together to form picture “packs”.
